In keeping with the University’s annual tradition, the “AYU FEST 2026” first-year student induction ceremony was held at our university.

The event aimed to introduce new students to university life and traditions and help them adapt to their new environment.

The ceremony opened with a performance by the Bi-Sultan Dance Ensemble, one of the University’s most celebrated creative groups. Students representing different ethnic communities then took part in a Friendship Parade. They showcased their cultures and national traditions, reflecting the unity and friendship of the Turkic world.

The programme continued with a parade of faculties. Each faculty presented its academic profile, distinctive features, and the wide range of opportunities available to students.

Rector Zhanar Temirbekova was the first to address the audience:

“I warmly welcome the first-year students who have joined our large family—the family of Khoja Akhmed Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University!

Over the next four years, we will do everything possible to help you become not only highly qualified professionals but also well-rounded individuals and responsible citizens dedicated to your countries. We will create opportunities for you to learn foreign languages, harness the potential of artificial intelligence, and succeed in national and international competitions.

What we expect from you is the courage to face challenges. Being a student at Yassawi University is not easy. There may be sleepless nights and long hours of study in the library. However, we believe that your hard work will lay the foundation for great achievements in the future.

We want your years at our university to be truly memorable, and we will do our utmost to make that possible. May your student life be filled with success and unforgettable moments!”

Vice-Rector for Finance and International Relations Mustafa Giritlioglu then addressed the students:

“Our university is a symbol of friendship and brotherhood between Kazakhstan and Türkiye. Dear first-year students, you have come here from different cities and countries with great dreams and aspirations. I wish you every success in the years ahead! We are ready to support you and help you achieve your goals. May your path be clear and your determination remain strong!”

The welcoming speeches were followed by the first-year students’ oath-taking ceremony. The students pledged to uphold the honour of the University, pursue academic excellence, and become highly qualified professionals.

The celebration continued with a concert showcasing the talents of students and members of the university community. Media expert, Associate Professor and scholar Moldiyar Yergebekov, student Yedilkhan Nurgazy, and distinguished alumna Yenlik Saduakas performed songs that delighted the audience. A medley presented by the student vocal and instrumental ensemble added further colour to the evening.

Entertaining games were also organized, and the winners received University-branded merchandise.

Thus, “AYU FEST 2026” created a festive atmosphere for first-year students and marked the beginning of their university journey with vivid and memorable experiences.
