As part of his official visit, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of our University, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Karaman, visited historical and cultural sites in the Turkistan Region.
During his visit to the region, Chairman Hüseyin Karaman paid tribute to the shared history and spiritual values of the two brotherly nations and, together with the University leadership, honored the memory of their ancestors.
The delegation first visited the ancient settlement of Otyrar and the Arystan Bab Mausoleum, dedicated to the teacher and spiritual mentor of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi, the prominent Sufi scholar. They learned about the history of the mausoleum, which dates back to the 12th century, and became acquainted with historical accounts and legends surrounding the life and legacy of Arystan Bab. Particular attention was also given to his spiritual significance for the Turkic peoples.
The visit then continued in the city of Turkistan, where the delegation paid homage at the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They offered prayers at the mausoleum, which is regarded as a masterpiece of medieval architecture and an important spiritual heritage site of the Turkic world.
Through this visit, the new Chairman demonstrated his strong commitment to further strengthening the cultural and spiritual ties between our University and the region.
