Famous Turkish blogger Sedat Çiçek, who actively promotes the Turkic world and Kazakh-Turkish relations, paid a special visit to our university.

The distinguished guest was welcomed by Rector Zhanar Temirbekova, who introduced him to the university.

During the meeting, Sedat Çiçek spoke about his blog content focusing on the history and culture of the Kazakh people, their traditions and customs, national values, and contemporary life.

He also noted that the main purpose of his visit to Kazakhstan was to gain a deeper understanding of the country’s culture and historical heritage and to introduce them to a wider Turkish audience.

The Turkish blogger placed particular emphasis on the deep historical ties between the two nations. He noted that the friendship and brotherhood that have endured for centuries continue today in new forms through education, science, culture, and the information sphere.

In turn, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova provided the guest with a comprehensive overview of the university’s history and its present-day activities. She shared information about the university’s educational programs, research and international cooperation, as well as the opportunities available to students.

The Rector emphasized that the university was established with the support of Kazakhstan and Türkiye and has developed into a unique institution that brings together the educational systems of the two countries. In this context, she highlighted the importance of the 500 places allocated annually by the Republic of Türkiye, for which the application process is currently underway.

The meeting also touched upon the spiritual legacy of Khoja Akhmed Yassawi and historical accounts concerning his mentor, Arystan Bab. The Rector noted that the teacher-disciple relationship between Yassawi and Arystan Bab has become an important model of spiritual education in the Turkic world and that these values remain relevant to contemporary society.

The discussion also covered the shared historical roots of Kazakhstan and Türkiye, their linguistic and cultural similarities, and the continuity of their traditions. The participants exchanged views on the distinctive features of the higher education systems in both countries, academic mobility, professional training, and the role of university graduates in society.

At the end of the meeting, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova presented Sedat Çiçek with commemorative gifts.

Following the meeting, Sedat Çiçek conducted a special filming session about our university.
